Abstract: This research investigates the impact of cultural competence on vocational training outcomes in Nigeria, examining the knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for understanding and effectively interacting with diverse cultural backgrounds in vocational education settings. Cultural competence in vocational training enhances student adaptability, communication, and collaboration skills, crucial for success in multicultural workplaces and globalized industries. The study aims to (1) assess the influence of cultural competence development on vocational students' learning experiences and career readiness, (2) explore perceptions and experiences regarding the integration of cultural competency training in vocational curricula, and (3) propose recommendations for enhancing cultural competence initiatives to foster inclusive learning environments and promote student success in vocational education. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from vocational students, educators, and diversity trainers familiar with cultural competence initiatives and outcomes. A sample size of 300 participants will be chosen through purposive sampling to represent vocational students, cultural competence trainers, and educational administrators in Ogun State. Case studies will examine effective cultural competence programs and their outcomes in improving student intercultural skills and professional adaptability. Findings indicated positive correlations between cultural competence and student engagement, identified challenges such as curriculum integration barriers and instructor training gaps, and highlighted the role of experiential learning, cultural immersion activities, and inclusive pedagogical approaches in fostering cultural competence among vocational students. Recommendations include integrating cultural competency across vocational curricula, enhancing educator training, and promoting intercultural dialogue to cultivate culturally responsive practices and enhance vocational training outcomes.
